Mrs. Beck Girls who code? Sisterhood. Club girls join a safe and supportive environment of peers and role models and learn to see themselves as computer scientists. Beyond the Club, girls can tap into an alumni network of tens of thousands of girls across the country who are using computer science to solve problems they care about.
Code. Clubs learn the concepts of loops, variables, conditionals, and functions that form the basis for all programming languages –– whether they want to build a website, an app, or a robot. Returning Clubs girls can deepen their programming knowledge through extended activity sets.
Impact. Club girls work in teams to design and build a Computer Science “CS” Impact Project that solves real world problems they care about through code.
Mrs. del Nido Book Club Members of the book club will take turns choosing a book for everyone to read. We will meet once a week to read and discuss fun, interesting books.
Ms. Weltman Portrait Club Portrait Club is a place to practice your drawing and painting skills, focusing on portraiture. Each meeting we will have a live model or photographs available to work from.
Ms. Carr Yoga Club Yoga Club provides a yoga and mindfulness program to promote social, emotional and physical wellness, learning readiness, and positive school climate. Meeting once a week, this club will cultivate mind-body tools grounded in yoga and mindfulness practices to guide students in developing physical, social, emotional, and attentional self-regulating strategies and skills, well-being, resilience, and life-long learning and exploration.

I would love to co-facilitate this club/activity with someone who would be interested. I think a fun location for yoga club would be the room on the 10th? floor with all the mirrors, although it really could be practiced anywhere. Monday or Tuesday would be a great day to practice yoga and mindfulness strategies in order to create a positive and self-aware space for the rest of the week. On the flipside, Friday would provide an opportunity for meaningful self-reflection. If someone else would be interested in running this program with me, we can narrow down the best day!

Ms. Iocovozzi Poetry Club? Poetry club will be a guided workshop that helps students express their emotions through creative writing. Students will learn the different styles of poetry while also reading, writing, and bringing in writings to share with the class. The club will culminate in a poetry reading which parents are invited to and the election of a Poet Laureate of the school.

I would also love to publish a book of the work that the students can keep for their portfolios.
