Today marks the middle of Marking Period 1, which ends in three school weeks from today. Make sure that all your grades are above 90 percent in all your classes.

Announcement #1: The Black History Month performance in the auditorium periods 7 and 8 today. All students should get their coats before or after lunch, and then go to their period 7 classes. You will walk down with your classes to the auditorium. Again, you will go to your period 7 class first and then come down to the Black History Month performance with your teacher and class.

Announcement #2: Today is Study and Homework Helper after school at 2:45 in Mr. Lilla’s room–Room 719.

Announcement #3: The new issue of The Gramercy Times is being released today during lunch. Get your copy from Room 711. Issue 5 is a special Valentine’s Day edition. Read some excellent critical analyses of Valentine’s Day, Hallmark’s second favorite holiday; read about the five worst romantic clichés, read about 21 great date ideas, and read a review of the new Netflix series, The End of the F-ing World. Again, get your copy of issue 5 of The Gramercy Times in Room 711 at lunch today!

Announcement #4: Lunch and Learn today is math and science.

Announcement #5: Today is the sign up for juniors who want to go the March 2nd Stony Brook trip. Sign up with Ms. Polo during lunch today. In order to get the permission slip, you must give Ms. Polo the $7 for the LIRR ticket. Students must have an 85 and above average to attend the Stony Brook trip.

Announcement #6: The Stress Relief Group meets with health-center Sean in Room 719 at lunch today. The Library Beautification meets during lunch today.

Announcement #7: SGO will be holding the audition for our annual Talent Show today during lunch. Sign up on the sheets on Ms. Rodriguez’s door.

Announcement #8: Next Saturday and Sunday, February 24 and 25, there will be a Fan Faire creative arts/comic con festival at at the High School of Arts and Design, which is located at 56th Street and Second Ave. See Mr. Patterson for more information.

Announcement #9: Rehearsal for HAIR is today at 3 on the 11th floor! Don’t be late!

Announcement #10: A shout out to all the SGO students who worked so hard to make this year’s Valentine’s Flower Grams the most popular yet. Over 250 flowers were distributed yesterday. Awesome job, SGO! Ms. Jimenez shouts out Olivia Matthews & Aileen Downes and all the editors and contributors to The Gramercy Times. Great job, newshounds, journos, and newsies!
